Tracy Robillard

 

Tracy manages the summer and articling student program for McMillan’s Toronto office, including overseeing recruitment, integration, performance management, mentoring, workflow and law school liaison initiatives.

Before joining the Professional Growth & Management team, Tracy practiced at another large national law firm for over five years in the areas of corporate/commercial and energy law. Tracy brings her previous experience as a practicing lawyer to ensure a professional and supportive environment for students and associates.

Paul Horbal

 

Paul works with clients to assess their patent and licensing needs, and has helped to secure patents for a diverse array of clients, including start-ups, university researchers, and major multinational companies. Prior to law school, Paul conducted graduate research on energy recovering integrated circuits for use in low-power digital signal processors. He also has significant experience with technologies related to the Internet, including web application software and networking systems.

Liane Fong

 

Liane is an associate in Dentons’ Toronto office. She advises clients on a wide variety of privacy, marketing & advertising, and consumer protection related matters, including privacy policies and terms of use, contests and sweepstakes, promotional materials and claims,  CRTC do not call list and telemarketing rules, and consumer protection legislation.

Liane also advises consumer product manufacturers, importers and retailers on regulatory compliance matters and product safety issues, and facilitates cross-border consumer product regulatory investigations and product recalls under legislation including the Canada Consumer Product and Safety Act and Food and Drugs Act. 

Ian Hu
 

an is the new face of Claims Prevention and practicePRO at LAWPRO. As counsel his focus is on helping lawyers minimize their risk for claims, along with encouraging good practice management. As former Vice President of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers he has mentored students and young lawyers. He is passionate about diversity on the bar and on the bench. He deeply believes you can achieve whatever you put your love and effort into!

Ian practiced litigation prior to joining LAWPRO. He summered at RBC's law group, articled at Lerners in Toronto, and has since had 7 years of experience as a plaintiff side personal injury lawyer. He has acted as counsel on trials and motions before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Ontario, and the Divisional Court. He is a regularly invited speaker at bar association events, including the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, and his alma mater Osgoode Hall Law School.
